- That's very funny. However - I have taken care of horses all my life and I do live on a ranch. No - most ranchers don't become ranchers to get rich (though many of the rich become ranchers) but many of the ranchers I know are from multi-generation families.

- Wild horse populations can be controlled medically through a type of birth control shot called PZP (procine zona pellucida), but not through mechanical gelding which would leave the geldings socially outcast and in danger without a herd or a band for protection, so at that point would be more humane …
